Fitness center for this short-term rental property

 The client wanted to transform an underutilized garage into a vibrant fitness center for their vacation rental property. This conversion not only maximized the use of the existing space but also provided guests with a valuable amenity that enhances their stay.

To brighten the once-closed garage, we added multiple windows and French doors. This design choice floods the fitness center with natural light while creating an inviting atmosphere for guests. 

 We designed the layout to include a locked maintenance/storage room, a bathroom, a gym area with a sauna and laundry area, and a locked utility room. This thoughtful configuration meets the client’s specific needs, ensuring functionality and convenience for guests.

The building was rewired as it was not previously equipped for electrical use. We coordinated with Nova Scotia Power to establish a new connection, ensuring that all fitness center amenities receive reliable power.

We installed drywall throughout the space to create a clean, finished look. This essential step not only enhances the aesthetics but also improves sound insulation for a more pleasant workout environment. 

 We applied a fresh coat of white paint throughout the fitness center, creating a clean and bright atmosphere. This simple yet effective choice enhances the space's openness and provides a crisp backdrop for all the fitness equipment.

The client selected in-floor heating for the bathroom, providing warmth and comfort during colder months. This luxurious feature enhances the overall guest experience, making the bathroom a cozy retreat. 

A shower was incorporated into the bathroom to allow guests to freshen up after workouts or rinse off before using the sauna or hot tub. This convenience adds to the functionality and appeal of the fitness center 

For the gym area, we chose durable rubber flooring, which offers excellent traction and cushioning. This flooring choice is ideal for a fitness environment, providing safety and comfort for all types of workouts. 

The utility room was designed with labeled plumbing and secured access to ensure it remains off-limits to guests. This organization not only maintains the aesthetics of the space but also ensures smooth operations for the property management.

We installed epoxy flooring with sparkles in the utility room, combining durability with a touch of elegance. This flooring choice is not only easy to clean but also adds a unique visual appeal to the functional space. 

An infrared sauna was installed for guests to enjoy after their workouts. This luxurious addition promotes relaxation and recovery, enhancing the overall wellness experience offered by the fitness center.
